Consumer Reviews Submitted For: Mount Ogden Eye Center
I had a pretty poor experience at Mount Ogden Eye Center. I did not end up using them for my Lasik surgery, instead I went with Mountain View Eye Center in Layton and had a great experience.

Everyone needs to see at least three different doctors before deciding. I didn't at first because I figured they were all the same and it was a hassle, but when you are spending $4000 dollars you shouldn't have to put up with rude receptionists and inexperienced staff. It was a lot of money out of my pocket and I wanted to spend it with the Dr. that made me feel the most comfortable.

I'll try to be quick on my review of Mount Ogden Eye Center. The parking is really bad, I had to park across the street it was so crowded. When I walked up to the counter the receptionist was talking to another worker, she never acknowledged me or said, "It will be just one moment." Instead she continued to talk to the lady who worked there for what seemed like a very long time, and even 10-20 seconds can seem like a very long time to someone who's waiting. Finally she turned to me and stared, no, "Thank you for waiting how can I help you?" I told her my name and she had me sit and fill out some paperwork. It took me about 5-10 minutes for the paperwork and when I walked back to the desk to give it to her she was on the phone so I stood there and waited. The lady sitting next to her was typing and didn't offer to take my paperwork and another lady behind her continued to photocopy, so I waited. When she was done on the phone she took my papers and started sorting through them, I wasn't sure if she still needed me so I continued to stand there. The lady photocopying came to stand next to the receptionist at which point the receptionist, still looking through the papers, asked "Do you need a copy of these?"  I had no idea who she was talking to, me or the other employee. She then looked up at me and repeated her question. At this point I was getting so mad. I have a name, and if she didn't know how to pronounce my name she could have easily looked at my face and said, "Miss, would you like a copy of these?"

I then waited for the Lasik consultant for a little over 25 minutes, WAY to long. When the consultant came out, I was surprised at how young she was. She was very nice and friendly but really didn't know what she was doing. She needed to do a couple of tests to see how thick my cornea was and something else. She tried the test three times and kept getting a strange reading. Finally she went to get someone to see what the problem was and the other lady asked if I was still wearing my contacts, and I was. I think the consultant should have known to ask me if I was wearing contacts, that's kinda the reason I was there in the first place. From there we went to another room where she proceeded to tell me the pricing, and I had to ask her if I could put my contacts back in because I couldn?t see anything. Something else she should have realized. I never met with a Dr.

Judging from the busy parking lot they were doing so much work that they must not have cared about me. After my horrible experience I didn't know what to do. It had been a pain to find someone to watch my child so I could come to the appointment, I didn't know if I should make such a big deal out of how rude and inexperienced everyone was or not. I finally forced myself to see at least two other Dr.'s before deciding and I'm so glad I did. Look up Dr. Bowman at Mountain View Eye Center. He was so friendly and his staff did a ton of tests and they were very friendly and helpful. I ended up doing PRK and went from 600/20 to 20/20.
